This essay, Werner Erhard Video Experience, is the first in the trilogy The Werner Erhard Experience:

in that order.

It embeds a catalog of videos of Werner with permission, and with thanks to the friends of Werner Erhard who posted them on YouTube.com. I will add to it whenever more videos of Werner become available.

I am indebted to Gregg Eller and to Robyn Symon who inspired this conversation, and to Eric Edberg and to Cessilia Park and to Derek Dearden and to Liz Lundberg and to Russ Rosa who contributed material.

Transformation is being in face to face conversations for transformation with people. When you're not being in face to face conversations for transformation with people, you're no longer transformed.

Transformation shows up in the domain of speaking and listening ie in the domain of the spoken word. The written word including this Conversations For Transformation internet series of essays can call forth only a close approximation to transformation. The written word ie the domain of writing and reading can point to transformation, it can tease out transformation. But it isn't transformation.

What, then, can be said for the recorded word ie the domain of videography, photography, and audiography?

Videos, photographs, and audios can also point to transformation, they can also tease out transformation. But they, also, aren't transformation.

That said, in this catalog of videos of Werner there's an opportunity not only to hear what he's speaking about but also to listen to what he sounds like, to listen where his voice comes from, to listen where he comes from, to watch his facial expression, to get the way he's being who he's being while he's being with the people he's being with.

There's a powerful, rich opportunity here to experience Werner Erhard.
